El hombre que calculaba
En el post anterior prometí que iba a postear sobre esto; y he aquí…
Como les anticipé a los que se tomaron el trabajo de leerlo (el post anterior), El hombre que calculaba es un libro que leí en las vacaciones de invierno.
Su autor, conocido como Malba Taham, no es de origen islámico como pareciera; sino que en realidad es brasileño; y se llama Júlio César de Mello e Souza. Usó el seudónimo Malba Taham para intentar captar la antención del publico, que se desinteresaba por los autores brasileros.
La historia, escrita en 1949, se sitúa en un antiguo medio oriente; donde predomina la religión musulmana, se describe a lo largo de la obra distintas costumbres que posee la gente de estas lejanas tierras.
Sin embargo, el motivo principal de la historia se relaciona con las matemáticas.
El protagonista es el matemático y místico persa Beremiz Samir, quien usa sus habilidades matemáticas para resolver los problemas que encuentra en el camino, asombrar y divertir a la gente, resolver disputas, hacer justicia y, finalmente, ganarse el corazón de una bella princesa.
Escrito de una manera atractiva, son interesantes tanto las curiosidades matemáticas que narra y la genialidad de Beremiz (que con ver campo lleno de camellos es capaz de decir cuántos son, cuántas orejas y cuántas patas hay…) como las tradiciones y costumbres del pueblo musulmán.
La única crítica que tengo para hacerle al libro es el final: obviamente no se los voy a contar; pero básicamente tira por la borda toda la espiritualidad musulmana relatada en el libro y al protagonista “se le revela el corazón de Jesus”, como diría mi padre…

LO LEI EN 2DO AÑO, Y ME ENCANTÓ.
DE HECHO FUE EL PRIMER LIBRO QUE LEÍ POR MOTUS PROPIO (DESPUES DE ESE LEI SOLO UNO MAS… “MATEMATICA.. ESTAS AHI?” DE ADRIAN PAENZA)
LA VERDAD QUE SI LO HUBIERA LEIDO UN PAR DE AÑOS ANTES, TIPO 6TO GRADO, ME HUBIERA FASCINADO.
ES MUY MUY BUENO, Y FACIL DE LEER.
LA HISTORIA ES MEDIO BERRETA, Y EL FINAL ES CUALQUIERA. PERO EN REALIDAD SON COMO LA ESTRUCTURA QUE DA MOTIVO A LOS ENIGMAS, Y HACE QUE NO SEAN SOLO ENIGMAS TIRAOS UNO DESPUES DEL OTRO.
TODAVIA HOY, 3 AÑOS DESPUES, ME ACUERDO LOS PROBLEMAS Y ME DIVIERTO EXPLICANDOLOS.
LO QUE NO SABIA ERA QUE ESTABA ESCRITO EN 1949, YO PENSABA QUE ERA DE EL 1300 DE VERDAD…
ES MÁS, MI EDICION DICE “El libro, en su idioma original, el libanés, tiene una dedicatoria a descartes, pascal, euler, comte, alá se compadezca de estos infieles….dedico el libro a todos los que disfrutan de la ciencia mas hermosa… yo, el-hadj jerife Alí, Iezid Izz-Malba Tahan les dedico estos problemas en la Luna de Ramadán de 1321″

Muy bueno el enigma de los 4, en el mismo libro esta muy bueno el de los 35 camellos, me lo contaron y entrtuve a mis hijos por un rato haciendo calculos.. Ja ja!!
Me gustan mucho los enigmas de matemática, (por culpa de ellos y mi entusiasmo de explicarlos y enseñarlos tengo previa matemática de 3ro.. Se acordará todavía la profe Beruschi… ja ja!! Ya me podría aprobar sin rendir no? pasaron como 26 años…

A pesar que desde hace muchos, muchísimos años había oído (sin querer) una plática entre dos amigos sobre el libro de un “arabe” EL HOMBRE QUE CALCULABA en el cual habían coneptos y juegos matemáticos, nunca busque leerlo. Sin embargo por esos azahes de la vida caminaba hace unos días con Luana, mi hija, buscando un libro para ella y encontré éste título en una vitrina. Lo compré y acabo de leerlo. Simplemente: MAGNÍFICO. Matemática, moral, valores humanos, relatos fantásticos y reales… ¿quién dijo que la Matemática es aburrida?

me gusto mucho el libro, lo lei a los 11 años, ahora tengo 15 y lo mejor que era muy facil de entender, y cada vez que leia un problema en el libro, lo cerraba, y trataba de resolver el problema por mi misma, pude resolver varios, pero no todos, ese libro era como un juego para mi, pues lo leia como si fuera “Rayuela”, leia un capitulo y me saltaba a otro, creo que por su facil entedimiento, puede ayudar a chicos en edad escolar a interesarse por las matematicas y verlas divertidas, no aburridas, en verdad me gusto, pues no solo eran problemas, si no tambien habia una historia, lo unico que me hizo pensar en verdad, fue la multiplicacion de un solo factor, y era la multiplicacion de los panes, en este caso tenia que haber sido subjetiva y no objetiva. Bueno bye

Este libro lo lei el año 97 en mi etapa escolar, la verdad me impresiono bastante y es que no se trataba de una obra impuesta por la exigencia de mis profesores. la verdad la lei por que estaba aburrido sin embargo no deje de leerla hasta que a termine el mismo dia que empeze, pór supuesto ese dia no fui al colegio.
